  Welcome to Volunteer Services at Children’s Health System

It takes a special person to become a volunteer.  Although each person comes for a different reason, there are two characteristics all volunteers share – a love of children and a desire to help others.

The Department of Volunteer Services is a part of the Human Resources function at Children’s.  We function in a similar fashion – meaning volunteers go through a process much like our employment process.  You attend an information session, make application, are interviewed and finally attend an orientation session.  We think you can understand the need for a lengthy process to protect the special ones that we serve every day.  If you were a parent of a child, you would want to know that every precaution has been taken.

As a volunteer you become a part of the Children’s team.  It takes everyone working together to meet our mission of providing the finest pediatric healthcare for all children to come to us.  Our mission and values are not something that looks nice on the wall, but reminders of how we serve every day.

When you become a volunteer at Children’s Health System, you will help in ways you don’t even realize – a smile, a friendly hello, or a comforting face.  Give what you can, when you can, and we promise you will receive far more in return than you ever thought possible!
